McKenzie Pass officially opened on the morning of July 4th, featuring fresh, smooth pavement for cars and cyclists to enjoy. This opening follows the completion of a significant improvement project funded by a Federal Lands Access Program grant.
Key updates and information:
The narrow, winding section between the winter gate and the summit on the east side has been fully paved.
Paving work is now moving below the snow gate on the east side. Expect some delays as crews flag traffic through one lane during this phase.
The entire project, including striping and signage, is expected to be complete by late August.
